The following is a lesson sketch and set of resources for teaching our famous “Pentecost Pirates” and/or “Pentecost Surfers” lessons using the “talk aloud” found in either the Kid Pix 4 or Let’s Talk software.
1. Define the Good News
Write down in 3 or 4 sentences what the “Gospel” is. Here are two starter sentences might help.
The good news is that Jesus….
And now we should….
Look it up if you need help! In Acts 2, Peter gives you plenty of ideas about what the Good News about Jesus is and what we should do!

2. Translate and Tell the Good News
Now “translate” your message about the Gospel into a new language, just like the Holy Spirit did on that first Pentecost. Pick either Pirate language or Surfer language and see how many words you can include to fully describe what the good news is, and does for us. See my example at the end of this page.
Other Languages: “Church speak,” “Babies” (this is a fun one….how would you tell a 3 year old about Jesus?)
Work it out on paper, then type it into a Kid Pix screen with the text tool, or the “Talk Now” module in the Let’s Talk software screen. Play back for all to here, then improve it again. (Print your creations when done. To print a Let’s Talk screen, press the “printscreen” key on your keyboard, then open a document and select “paste” to paste the screenshot, then print.)
