Here’s the full game version of Joseph 2.3 with the newer “b” (video) updates.
It’s a 240 mb zip file. Download and extract/unzip then run the Joseph-Installer file. A small gray box will appear. Click “Install Game Files” and let the installer do its thing.
I’ve included a copy of the Joseph Guide (pdf) in the download. Consider it essential for playing and guiding. You may also appreciate having these by your side:
- A Map of the game and Pharaoh’s Maze (your cheat sheet)
- A Student Worksheet (to guide them through the content)
I strongly recommend setting your Windows Display to 1024 x 768 resolution — to match the game’s native resolution. I also recommend selecting that 1024 x 768 option on the Joseph Start Up Screen (pictured below). Choosing that Display setting and Joseph start option will make the videos and graphics sharper, and keep the game window from stretching wide on wide-aspect monitors. Joseph was designed in 2011 to run on the typical “used” PCs most Sunday Schools were using, which is why we gave it a smaller resolution. Go to our Joe Tech Page for more help.
In addition to including the full game, the “b” version of 2.3 contains the recompiled versions of all 9 videos that play in the game at various points. Sometime in 2019, Windows updated their “video codecs” which caused our videos to appear as black boxes and leave a black box at startup. Problem solved!
