Elijah and Jonah CD from Sunday Software is interactive Bible story and games software designed for kids and young teens. See the full description here.

E&J CD has been updated TWICE since its first release. Check the CD's label to see which version you have.

  • Version 1.1 improved on 1.0 by adding some technical tweaks, correct some navigation errors and typos, and by adding a Game Menu under the Main Menu's "Options" button. This game menu lets users jump straight to all the games (in version 1.0 you had to look for each game within each story)

  • Version 1.2 (releasing August 25, 2010) is a technical update that makes your installed copy of E&J run in Vista, Windows 7, and OS 10.4+.  It also updates v1.0 installations to include everything we put in v1.1.

The Version 1.2 Update is FREE.
It will update BOTH versions 1.0 and 1.1 --if you have installed them on your computer.

Please read this before downloading the update:

  1. When you click the download link, you will be asked to "Open or Save" the elijah1.2.zip file. Select "SAVE" and save it to a location on your desktop.

  2. After the download is complete, take the downloaded zip file to the computer where you have E&J CD installed. You may have it on a CD or flash drive.

  3. Open the elijah1.2.zip file by double clicking it.

  4. In Windows, double-click the elijah1.2.exe file to install it on your computer where your original E&J install is. On a Mac...._________________

  5. Store the downloaded update file with your original E&J CD and you're done!

Download the version 1.2 Update --coming August 25,2010
This is a LARGE download (__mb). A highspeed connection is suggested.

If you have not downloaded the v1.2 update, the following notes may help...

Version 1.0 Tech Notes

If you get a "Member not found" error msg, or some menu buttons don't work (or you get an error message of any sort) you need to install a free updated version of Flash Player to your system. (In version 1.1 of Elijah-Jonah we put it a Flash Player for Windows in a folder on the CD for you. If you have a Mac, see the link below). If you can't find it, or have version 1.0, you can download the free Flash Player from Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115.0 for Windows (Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape & Opera) This is the small version of the Flash Player and will even fit on a diskette. If the link doesn't work search  their site for "Flash Player" or Google it. You can also download the mucgh larger version of the Flash Player directly from Adobe/Macromedia at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html. Pick the Flash download for your operating system. Once downloaded, put it in your computer and double-click the flashplayer executable file on the diskette. It will take care of the rest.  Version 1.1 is listed on both the jewelcase and CD. Note: A printing mistake on one small run of the CDs says "2.0" ...it's supposed to be 1.1.    If you have a MAC, you may need to go to macromedia.com and download the Mac version of the Flash player.

If you get a missing export OLEAUT32.DLL file, it means you are using an old UN-updated version of Windows 98. Go to Microsoft.com and download the DCOM for Windows 98 v1.3 files (search their download site).

If you get a "MDM Zinc V2 Error" msg it means you have Windows 98 and need to download DirectX 8.1 for Windows 98/Me to update your system.

Mac OS X Installation Notes

You must drag both the HQX (aka zip file) and Source folders into a folder on your desktop to start the program. If you drag only the HQX file over, the menus won't work. In one release of the CD, the readme file erroneously calls it a 'zip' file and only mentions the HQX file. Create a folder and drag both files into it.

Be careful naming your folder. Call it ElijahJonah. Do not use illegal folder characters such as "Elijah & Jonah".

If you have a Mac with an INTEL processor and cannot get E&J v 1.1 to work, download the replacement hqx file. Unzip it into a folder and double click the hqx file to install.

To install E & J CD v1.1 on OS X with a Mac chip, you must drag the hqx file (which OSX will show you is on the CD) to your desktop or any appropriate folder, then unzip it there. If you try to unzip it before you drag it to a folder, it will tell you it can't "unarchive".

MISSING HQX file ?  A small run of E&J CDs made in Feb 07 are missing the HQX file.  Email us for a replacement disc.

E & J CD will not work on Mac OS 9.

Version 1.1 will not work in 10.4 or higher. You need the version 1.2 update for that!
